Disaster Reduction
The
third mission of WINGS CRS is our
Disaster Reduction Service which will work around the world to
reduce or even where possible eliminate the effects of disasters on populations,
through engineered solutions.
Through the efforts of our Disaster Reduction Service, countless numbers of lives can be potentially saved, as well as eliminating the financial risk of triggering economic crises which could threaten to cripple both regional and global economies, saving jobs, and potentially many billions of dollars.
The WINGS Disaster Reduction Service will be made up of a team of skilled civil engineers, disaster experts, urban planners and architects. This team will work closely with member nations, first identifying potential disaster threats to the member nation's populations and their industries. Then a comprehensive solution will be developed which would either reduce or possibly eliminate both existing and imminent threats from disasters. Once these solutions are agreed upon, WINGS will work in partnership with the member nation to help secure funding if necessary and then responsibly implement the engineered solution. Through the Disaster Reduction Program member nations will see existing communities and their infrastructure improved upon, and new stronger and better designed communities developed, creating more opportunity for self sustainable communities with stability.
All engineered solutions will maintain at the forefront "green" practices, in order to bring solid ecologic benefits, and lower energy costs as a benefit for the populace.
